As an accredited center, PhilHealth covers hemodialysis up to ₱6,350 per session under Circular No. 2024-0023. For eligible Philhealth members, this policy would cover the following items under a  zero-co-payment agreement:

1) Single dose of Erythropoietin Stimulating Agent (ESA), in line with Circular Minimum Standards and only as needed by doctor's orders;

2) Iron Sucrose, as needed;

3) Heparin Sodium, as needed;

4) Routine Monthly Labs (CBC, BUN, Serum Creatinine, Potassium/Phosphorus/Calcium, Serum Sodium, Serum Albumin, Serum Iron/Ferratin/Transferrin, TIBC);

5) Hepatitis Profile every 6 months, and only as indicated

6) Dialyzer (High-flux/Low-flux);

7) Hemodialysis solutions and supplies;

8) Administrative and Clinical Operational Expenses;

9) Doctor's Professional Fee.

Important Note

Philhealth coverage only applies to a maximum of 156 treatments per year. Afterwhich, patients needing sessions past the covered amount will entail being charged the full of P6,350 after every session.

Philhealth also sets a maximum coverage of 32 dialyzers, for the entire year. This is equivalent to 6 uses of each dialyzer. For patients that have exceeded 32 dialyzers for the year due to clotting or doctor's orders that require single-use treatments, these patients are obliged to pay the of amount P2,479.75.

Please refer to Annex 2 below for the list of other common additional charges NOT subject to the minimum standards coverage of Philhealth Circular No. 2024-0036, and will be paid out-of-pocket by the patient.
